Ayanna Alexander has realised her dream of qualifying for the Olympic Games.
The triple jumper grabbed gold at the 2011 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Senior Track and Field Championships, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
Ayanna has come back stronger than ever in 2012. She broke the 14-metre barrier for the first time in her career on May 12, at the Virginia Challenge.
There were three more 14-metre meets for Alexander, including the Quantum Invitational, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, where she disturbed the sand at 14.15 metres – the current national record.
