Jarrin Solomon anchored Trinidad and Tobago to bronze in the men’s 4 x 400 metres relay at the 2012 World Indoor Track and Field Championships, in Istanbul, Turkey, in March. He teamed up with Lalonde Gordon, Renny Quow and Jereem Richards for third spot in three minutes, 06.85 seconds. The clocking is a T&T indoor record, bettering a 19-year-old standard.
In June, Solomon played his part in another record-breaking 4 x 400 metres performance. He ran the third leg for T&T, combining with Quow, Gordon and Deon Lendore for victory in 3:00.45, at the National Championships, in Port of Spain. Solomon and company erased a 20-year-old record from the books, beating the 3:01.05 standard established by Patrick Delice, Alvin Daniel, Neil De Silva and Ian Morris at the 1992 Olympic Games, in Barcelona, Spain.
