Janeil Bellille has tasted global success. Back in 2008, she secured silver in the women’s 400 metres hurdles at the World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Her clocking in that final, 56.84 seconds, is still the national junior record.
Bellille’s best time in the one-lap hurdles is 55.80 seconds. She produced that run in 2011, and followed up this season with a 55.91 clocking at the Texas Relays.
At the 2012 National Junior College Championships, in Texas, USA, Bellille struck gold for South Plains College in 56 seconds flat.
And then, at the National Championships, in Port of Spain, the 23-year-old athlete had the satisfaction of beating 2009 World Championship bronze medallist Josanne Lucas.
