Jamol James - AthleticsJamol James forced himself onto the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic team by finishing sixth in the men’s 100 metres final at the National Championships, in Port of Spain.
The University of Tennessee student got to the line in a personal best 10.17 seconds to secure his berth on the 4 x 100 metres relay squad. The clocking improved on the 10.33 pb he had produced in the semis.
Earlier in the season, James recorded a PR (personal record) in the 200 metres, the Tennessee freshman getting to the line in 21.25 seconds to claim silver at the Double Dual meet in California, USA.
Whether or not James actually runs at the London Olympics, having a 20-year-old on the 4 x 100 metres squad is a clear sign that the future of T&T sprinting is in good hands
