London (AFP) - The decision to postpone the Tokyo Olympics until 2021 will be welcomed by the sponsors who pay hundreds of millions to be associated with the event, British advertising veteran Martin Sorrell has told AFP.

THE INTERNATIONAL Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Tokyo 2020 organising committee confirmed the news that the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be rescheduled to a date beyond 2020, but not later than summer 2021, following a conference call on Tuesday.

With yesterday’s announcement that the 2020 Olympic Games will be postponed, Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) president Brian Lewis is keen for the new dates to be disclosed.
