AFTER a 20-year hiatus, Trinidad and Tobago has qualified to compete in the men’s bobsled at next month’s Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

Beijing will require all travellers to undergo a COVID-19 test within 72 hours of entering the Chinese capital until at least the end of March.

BASED ON the understood qualification process and world rankings as of Saturday, Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) president Brian Lewis is confident that TT’s bobsleigh team will be confirmed as a participant at next month’s Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach has said playbooks "should be a way of life", in the run-up to Beijing 2022, as he held conference calls with athlete representatives, National Olympic Committees and International Olympic Winter Sports Federations, to mark 30 days until the Opening Ceremony.

On Tuesday, with 101 days until the opening of the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing, China, the medals for those games were unveiled.
