Hours after the passing of former Prime Minister Patrick Manning at the San Fernando General Hospital yesterday morning from acute myeloid leukemia, Brian Lewis, the T&T Olympic Committee president admitted that his Vision 20/20 should have been maintained.

Patrick Manning served as prime minister of T&T for four terms and as the MP for San Fernando East for 44 years before he was forced to bow out of active politics in 2015, three years after he suffered a stroke.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley says he has “many, many positive memories” in his life with Patrick Manning. He said their bust-up which eventually led to his dismissal from Manning’s Cabinet was “small” but “maybe an integral part.”

Carnival in Trinidad is among the most spectacular in the world. Every year, thousands of 'Masqueraders' dance through the streets of the Capital, in fabulous costumes.

The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) extends deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of former Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Mr Patrick Manning.

It was the presentation T&T had been waiting for since last year and on Wednesday night, the 4x100 metres relay team of Richard Thompson, Keston Bledman, Emmanuel Callender and Marc Burns finally got to drape their silver medals around their necks.
