NATIONAL swimmer Dylan Carter spent some time in the pool on Friday as he continues to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics, tentatively set to start in July 2021.

Carter competed in the International Swimming League at the Duna Arena in Budapest, Hungary. Carter is swimming for LA Current, a club based in Los Angeles, California.

Carter tied for fourth place with Florent Manaudou of Energy Standard in the 50-metre backstroke. Both swimmers stopped the clock in 23.90 seconds. Carter’s team-mate Ryan Murphy won in 22.99.

In the 50m freestyle Carter was seventh in 21.51 with Manaudou touching the wall first in 20.63. Carter did not earn points for LA Current in those two events.

LA Current are currently third among the four teams with 214 points.

Alia Atkinson of Jamaica is also expected to compete in the league that will run until November 22.
